Hi, I'm Anna.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Coach who is passionate about helping people feel more connected to themselves, supported, and capable of creating meaningful change in their lives. My practice focuses on working with teens and adults navigating grief, trauma, neurodivergence, relationship issues, and life transitions.
I have always known I wanted to work in a field where I could help people. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in early childhood development as a preschool teacher, infant and toddler developmental specialist, and director of a childhood development center. Those experiences helped shape the way I understand people and the impact that early life experiences can have later on in life.
I earned my Master's in Clinical Social Work from George Mason University in 2016 and spent several years working in different levels of care, including residential, intensive outpatient, intensive in-home, and private practice, supporting teens and adults struggling with eating disorders/disordered eating, anxiety, depression, OCD, and neurodivergence (ADHD and ASD). I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2021 and opened my practice.
A large part of my earlier work focused on eating disorders/disordered eating. I chose to specialize in that area because I am very passionate about supporting people who are often suffering in silence. A big part of that passion comes from my own history of having an eating disorder. I wanted to bring that lived experience into the work I do and help others feel less alone in what can be such an isolating battle.
Over the years, my practice has expanded to focus on grief, trauma, neurodivergence, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I take a strengths-based, collaborative approach, recognizing that everyone's experiences and needs are different. Along with traditional talk therapy, I incorporate additional approaches, including grief movement, which uses gentle movement, breathwork, and sound to support emotional expression and help individuals navigate grief and loss. As a Certified Grief Movement Guide, I value giving clients different ways to explore and process difficult emotions, especially when finding the words isn't always easy.
I also value working collaboratively with other professionals, including psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, dietitians, therapists, and school counselors, to provide comprehensive and holistic care to my clients.
At the core of everything I do is the belief that people are capable of growth, healing, and change, and that they deserve a compassionate space to explore that process without judgment.
